Makes enough for enough for a small army or several chocolate loving friends.
Ingredient List
Prepare a chocolate quick bread. You can use a recipe from a cookbook or just buy a packaged mix. I like the Chocolate + Cherry Quick Bread from Williams-Sonoma. It's best to make the bread a day or two ahead of time (this gives it time to go slightly stale).
Slice bread up so you have enough to fit the the bottom of a 13x9 baking pan. Grease the bottom of the pan and put the bread in.
Mix together 4 eggs (or 1 carton egg beaters), 3 cups milk, cinammon and nutmeg to taste (I just dash it in so I can't give you measurements).
When ready to bake heat oven to 350. Pour egg/milk mixture over bread. Bake for 45 minutes and check for doneness. The liquid should be fully absorbed and the bread should be spongy. Bake longer if necessary.
Serve warm with ice cream and coffee.
